It's been a rather... interesting week for VOCALOID. What with the revelation that a GUMI rhythm game is around the corner, and the Miku and Luka (Yuu Asakawa) panels at the New York Comic Con, plus the announcement that a series of documentaries about Miku (or Mikumentary) is to be released.
But anyway, on the rankings, we have some delightful surprises this week, which will be covered in my picks of the week below:
#30 - Pretended Love by Kuroda Atsu feat. Lily - A pretty good Jazz track featuring Lily. It's really, really rare for Lily to appear in the rankings, outside of the occasion where niki uploads new songs.
#26 - Shinkai City Underground (Len Cover) by Orebanana feat. Len - Originally sung by Rin and composed by TanakaB, this is a great cover. Orebanana also previously made a Len cover for another Rin favourite, Tokyo Teddybear.
#7 - Braverlize by KulfiQ feat. Miku - Great rock song. There's something about KulfiQ's tuning that makes his songs really unique, and this is no exception.
#3 - Introduction by buzzG feat. Miku - buzzG has been quite active lately, with his new album and uploads. It's really too bad that his songs aren't getting the attention it deserves.
#1 - Minna Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru (Shiteyanyo) by ika feat. Miku - It's been 5 great years since Miku graced us with her release, and one of the most iconic songs since, Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru, finally has a full, updated version. This update features a new,cute and unique style of tuning for Miku, modified lyrics, and again a trippin', unique, and ultra-creative PV by MASATAKA. The PV depicts the many different versions of Miku we've seen since her release. The nostalgia of the song, plus the indirect depiction of how far VOCALOID has come, brings back great memories and a sense of pride for fans.
Heh, I actually felt rather emotional watching this. Really makes me feel absolutely no regrets discovering VOCALOID. Thank you ika-san for propelling the VOCALOID community forward with your contributions.
On another note, the song hit almost 700k views in just a week. It just shows how significant this song's influence is on the community. The original reached 10 million views at 10.44am on the 30th of August, 2012.

GUMI is finally visiting the game world!
The long-awaited Rhythm Game [Megpoid the music#] has been announced.
The release date is the Spring of 2013, and details of the game will be further revealed on the 18th of October.
Thus, VOCALOID has been divided into 2 sides in a rhythm game war,
moving on from the arcades to portable game devices,
almost like a battle of [Electronic Songstress VS Cinderella Girl].
(It's not supposed to be like this...?)
And then there's the long-awaited VOCALOID Library.
a brush-up of VY2, optimized for V3 [VOCALOID3 Library VY2V3]
A falsetto-based falsetto library is also included, increasing its range of expression (capabilities).
Yamaha will release it on the 19th of October.
Furthermore, a documentary that is not an anime or comedy.
Its name is [MIKUMENTARY]
It seems to cover the details regarding the true face of the "Hatsune Miku Phenomenon" .
